This course emphasizes understanding over memorization. Instead of teaching one “correct” way to play, students learn how to evaluate positions, adjust plans, and respond thoughtfully to different game situations. The outcome is a more confident, flexible player who can think independently and apply core principles in real games.
$100 per student per month
Students can join at the beginning of any month and follow the progressive curriculum at their own pace.

Players are welcomed into the program, introduced to the class structure, and guided through expectations for learning and play. This session helps everyone ease in, get comfortable, and set goals for the months ahead.

Month 1 focuses on the basics of positional chess, including piece activity, strong and weak squares, open files, and pawn structure. Students will begin learning how to create simple strategic plans beyond tactics.

Focuses on building simple middlegame plans through piece improvement, good trades, space advantage, and identifying weaknesses in the opponent’s position. Students will learn how to make better strategic decisions during practical games

Introduces basic endgame concepts, including king activity, opposition, pawn endings, and basic rook endgames. Students will learn key positions and techniques needed to convert winning advantages.

Players take part in a friendly tournament that simulates real play in a supportive setting. The focus is on applying skills, building confidence, and celebrating progress.
